In my case, that habit got worse and worse, and my hit rate dropped terribly.
After that, when I noticed my habit and fixed it, my hit rate got better, too. I just, really don't wanna Ren to go through that...

I think it's essential to develop​ teamwork by sharing your opinions and thoughts with each other.
I encourage everyone in East Sector to say what they think. Asch often tells me a few home truths, but... to me, that's a good thing.
You might want to think about how pointing these things out, but you don't need to refrain from telling them.

Gast: I wonder if that would even work...

Jay: The situation is as instructor Lily described it, it's not gonna be that easy.

Gast: I feel bad for dragging you into this, Jay.

Jay: You don't have to apologize. Guiding the younger generation is my role.

Gast: ... For real, I really feel you were born a hero.

Jay: Haha, I get that a lot.
However, there are as many ideal heroes as there are people. It doesn't matter if the hero you aim to be and the hero you envision are different.
