Akira: Oh! Isn't this question similar to that stuff we heard at the seminar the other day?

Will: That stuff...?

Akira: That thing, c'mon, err... It kinda asked which one was stronger between a giraffa and a hercules...

Will: Giraffa? Hercules...? Aren't those beetles names?

Akira: Huh?

Will: You dozed off again, didn't you, Akira? There was no such a question... Victor-san will get angry at you, you know?

Akira: Ngh, grrrr...

Oscar: It seems like you're doing well with the lectures.

Will: Ah... Apologies, Oscar-san. It must be hard studying with us next to you...

Oscar: Don't worry. There are times a little background noise can help me focus more.

Akira: Ask me anything you don't know, Oscar! For I, Akira Otori the Genius, shall teach thee! ♪

Oscar: How reassuring.

Will: Geez, he never misses a chance...

Akira: Anyway. This ain't the first time you take a promotional exam, is it, Oscar?
You say you're not good at reading and writing, so what did you do when you were promoted from AA to AAA?

Oscar: Well, I had Asch help me at the time.
Although we belong to different sectors, before the test I reached out to him and he answered all the questions I didn't understand.
When I told him I wasn't good at reading and writing he said he'd appoint me a private tutor, but I refused since I had my daily duties to take care of.

Will: A p- private tutor...

Oscar: If I studied constantly, I certainly wouldn't stumble upon the same things every time...

Akira: It's really not necessary to do anything more than the bare minimum to make your life easier~
It's the same thing as me sucking at using phones. I can live with one flaw, I'm a genius after all!
Will: How come this is about you now...?

Brad: How's it going, Oscar?

Oscar: Brad-sama!

Will: Good job out there, Brad-san. Has work settled down?

Brad: Yes, the paperwork, that is. I'll be heading to a meeting once I've taken a brief rest.

Oscar: Good work. Let me brew you some coffeeー

Brad: No, it's fine. If you're studying, then concentrate on that.

Oscar: Still...

Brad: Don't trouble yourself about it. More importantly, take this, Oscar...

Oscar: ? What is this notebook?

Brad: This is what I put together when I took my promotion exam to major hero... no, when Keith took it, to be exact.
I prepared countermeasures for each pattern of past exam questions based on the analysis of their frequency. I've limited the number of main points so that even Keith could understand.

Will: A- Amazing... It's easy to read and neatly put together, and on top of that the handwriting is so beautiful...

Akira: The heck's this... It's the first time I'm seeing a notebook filled to the brim...

Oscar: As expected of you, Brad-sama... I could never do what you do...

Brad: The notebook is yours now, Oscar.

Oscar: Eh!?

Brad: It's something I did long time ago, but the main points shouldn't have changed. If there's something you can't understand or words you can't read, let me know. Don't hold back.

Oscar: ......

Will: H- Huh? What's wrong, Oscar-san? Your hands are trembling...

Oscar: You are... You are giving such a wonderful thing to...?

Brad: It's just a notebook. What's the weird reaction for?

Oscar: A- Apologies! However, it would be a waste if you gave it to me....

Brad: I would recommend keeping it instead.  Use it however you please.

Oscar: Y- Yes, sir! Thank you very much, Brad-sama!
Now that I have received such a thing, I will definitely... I must pass at all costs...

Brad:
... Did it have a negative influence on him after all?
But well, Keith is enough proof that you can pass. I shouldn't have written anything off the mark.

Oscar: I see... When you were promoted to major hero, you said there were a lot of rough things going on.

Brad: Well, it was right after Dino disappeared.
However, if we're talking rough, that's how I did on my promotion exam to become AA... as a rookie.

Akira: Huh!?

Will: H- How rough are we talking about? I'd like to hear about it, if that's okay!

Brad: ... Dino was still there at that time, so the three of us worked together to prepare for the exam.
Getting that sloth to study took some trial and error for Dino and me.
Despite a few mistakes during the practical exam, I felt confident about the results. However, the written exam...

Will: What on earth...

Akira: What did Keith do?

Brad: Keith wasn't the one who messed up.

Akira & Will: Eh-?

Brad: After the first 30 minutes of the exam passed... I heard something similar to the growl of a beast coming from the seats in front of me.
Wondering what was going on, I searched for the source of the sound and... It turned out to be Dino's stomach.

Will: The s- sound of his stomach?

Akira: Dino was keeping a beast inside his stomach?

Brad: According to what Dino said after the exam,
the pie chart that was on the reference material looked like a pizza.

Akira & Will: ......!

Brad: Upon realizing that, he was beside himself with worry for the remaining 30 minutes...
While Keith who was sitting in front of Dino and I, of course, spent them trying not to laugh.
Well, all of us passed in the end.

Oscar: That's such a Dino-san thing to do.

Brad: Right... I'm sorry for disturbing you with small talk.

Oscar: Not at all...!

Brad: The exam is something that I, Dino, Keith and other heroes after us overcame.
And is something that both Will and Akira, and the other rookies must overcome.
I encourage you all to study while there's still time.

Akira: Uwah... And here I thought I was finally free from that stuff...

Will: Let's do our best, Akira. We overcame the Academy exam together as well after all ♪

Akira: ...... Bleah...

Oscar: Brad-sama, if that is okay with you, could I hand this notebook to the rookies?

Brad: What?

Oscar: I think they should use it too when their time to take the promotion exam to major hero comes...

Akira: Oooh, I sure want that! That's the legendary notebook Keith used, too, right? Of course I want it!

Will: Legendary notebook... We could also pass it on to the next generation, then.

Oscar: That's a good idea. This notebook should be passed down forevermore... Please do.

Brad: Oi, this story is escalating a bit too muchー

Akira: Alrrrright, leave it to me, Oscar! Voltage max!!!

Oscar: You guys...

Brad: Good grief... Well, I suppose I'll let you do as you please.
